Fess Parker
Beyond Santa Barbara County, Fess Parker is best known as the actor who portrayed Davy Crockett and Daniel Boone in the 1950s and ’60s.

He owns a seaside resort in Santa Barbara and a winery and inn in the Santa Ynez Valley. With the Chumash he is seeking to develop about half of a 1,500-acre ranch he owns. Under a contract with the county, Parker has paid discounted taxes by maintaining the parcel for agriculture. He is seeking to break that contract in order to build homes and a resort on the pasture land.
